After a trip to Broadway on the Beach, I couldn't get the family out of there fast enough when it came time for dinner. On our way back to Litchfield Beach I quickly yelped some options that would make a vegetarian, a 15-year-old picky eater, a hangry 2-year-old, and a picky husband and came up with Salt Water Creek Cafe. Did I mention our 2-year-old way hangry?! Without being asked our experienced waitress immediately calmed him down with mandarins orange and apple slices!! This never happens, and we were instantly in love with this place! Two crab sandwiches, two cheese pizzas, and some fried scallops later we were happy and satisfied. My husband said the crab sandwich got better with every bite. I gobbled up my fried scallops. Two notes: of you are used to heaping fish platters splurge on the large fried plates or be disappointed. If you order sweet potato fries make sure to ask for ketchup. Great spot that was a welcome change of pace from tourist traps and chain restaurants. Thank you!!

Salt Water Creek Cafe is our go to for Sunday Brunch. The normal menu is available as well as a Brunch Menu. Both menus offer a large variety of seafood, steaks, and other Lowcountry specialties. The Brunch menu has several omelet choices, pancakes and Benedict's. We had the traditional Benedict (offered as 1/2 or full order), Godzilla Breakfast (eggs, bacon, grit cake, pancakes) Blue Moo (sirloin with caramel onions blue cheese crumbles panini ) Neptune Salad , and shrimp and grits. The Blue Moo was reportedly the "best sandwich I've ever had". Grit cakes are small but delicious. During off season reservations are not necessary. Service is attentive, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend if you're dining in The Grand Strand.

We found this place via Yelp. My first visit was a 5 Star for sure. We both got the Grilled Shrimp with Fresh Tomato and Basil. It was wonderful..... We made a point to return on our next trip down. 2nd visit: I usually sample the menu but it was so good, I ordered the Grilled Shrimp again..... This time it was a big disappointment. The dish had a pool of water/liquid in the bottom. It was just runny. Now I would like to give these guys 4.5 stars because they could not have handled it better. The manager came over and apologized. He agreed the meal was not properly prepared. We changed gears and ordered a Pizza which was excellent. The manager also sent us out a piece of Cheesecake on the house. Problems will always happen when human's are involved; it's how you handle the problem that will keep your customers coming back. To the management, nice job all around. We will be back.

This was a good place to eat tonight. Lots of different choices on the menu. They seem to have a good choice on anything you want. I started out with a side Caesar Salad. The lettuce was fresh and the croutons were very good. They brought out some very tasty bread also. For my entree I got the Grilled Shrimp with Fresh Tomato and Basil served over Angel Hair Pasta. It was a very light dish, very tasteful and filling. I was pretty impressed at the food quality and prices. The service was a little bit slow. I'll definitely be back a few more times in the next few months.

Delicious food, excellent customer service and a casual, comfortable, modern atmosphere. The Crab bisque was so flavorful and had a lot of meat! The creaminess of the soup was impressively smooth and not too heavy. Our waitress was very quick, attentive and knowledgable. They kindly accommodated our large group of 45, gave us enough staff and everything was smooth and fast! You can tell everything is homemade... From the soups, to the salad dressings and maybe even the complementary bread! So good! That's a big deal since so many restaurants take short cuts. I highly recommend, no- I insist! You must get the shrimp and grits appetizers! The grits are grilled into patty form and the shrimp is stupid good! The sauce is yummy too :) I could have eaten two of these apps by myself!

I am definitely a fan of this place and look forward to going back on my next visit to the area. For starters, we ordered the $3 margaritas (with house-made margarita mix). They definitely did not skimp on the tequila. Then, we decided to try the coconut shrimp with a house-made spicy/sweet thai-style dipping sauce. I definitely could have made a meal out of this! The problem with this place is deciding what to order. There are so many wonderful sounding options here. I finally settled on the she-crab soup which was creamy and delicious. I also decided to try the King Neptune's Salad. Man, that was a HUGE salad - but quite good. It was a huge bed of salad greens along with diced carrots, tomatos, cucumbers, apples, and cheese. This was topped with fried shrimp, calamari, and fried oysters. I chose the house-made ginger dressing to go with it, which sounds kind of weird, but it worked well with all the flavors. David ended up getting a yumburger stuffed with goats cheese and a sweet chili sauce. He said it was really good. We ended up sitting out on the patio which was cool, because they had live music outside. Our service was great, and the prices were good... I would definitely recommend this place!

I passed this place on Highway 17 dozens of times and never paid it a lick of attention. Then I saw a commercial for it, and decided to visit the website. Looked good, and the family agreed. They have inside and outside dining with a nice relaxing atmosphere. The staff was friendly and we had a great server. They have a small wine list, and a full bar. They were very fairly priced, and I feel like you almost never find that anymore. For appetizers we had the calamari and the salt creek grits. They were both great. The grit cakes were large and very filling! For entrees we had the Cuban sandwich, the Manga! Chicken, and 2 surf and turf's. When we looked at the menu online, it showed several items that were no longer on the menu at the actual restaurant. The Surf and Turf was one of those. However, they happily accommodated our special request. Everything was very good- no leftovers! For dessert we had the Milky Way brownie, with extra ice cream! The Key Lime Pie and the Ana Banana Pudding. They were all delicious. Overall we had a great dining experience here. I would highly recommend this place to someone who wants a great dining experience in Murrells Inlet, but wants to avoid the crowds that you will find along the Marsh Walk in Murrells Inlet.
